It wasn’t too easy to find Korean actors in Hollywood during the 1970s, so the producers had to hire a wide range of Asian ethnicities to play the parts instead. Klinger’s girlfriend/wife Soon Li was played by a Chinese actress, and the South Korean Army captain Sam Pak was played by the Japanese actor Pat Morita. In fact, the only truly Korean actor on the show was Soon Tek Oh, who played a number of different roles throughout the years!
